Rafei trained in the UK at a time when British creative thinking was at its most rigorous — when an idea had to survive a brief before it earned a budget. That formative period shaped a belief he’s never abandoned: the most expensive thing a brand can do is communicate without clarity.

With a background in acting and storytelling, and a natural instinct for both creative and commercial thinking, Rafei approaches communication from both sides of the table — understanding not only how ideas are crafted, but why they matter to the business behind them.

He moved to Dubai with a specific problem to solve. Not “how do we produce better content” — but “why do so many great companies communicate so poorly?” The real issue wasn’t production quality. It was the absence of strategy behind it.

Lucy Cook is an award-winning Executive Producer whose career has taken her across the UK, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, working with global broadcasters, international brands, and government entities. Over the years she has built a reputation for leading productions that combine creative ambition with calm, thoughtful execution.

At LuckyLion, Lucy leads production from brief to delivery, guiding projects with the steady leadership that allows great ideas — and the people behind them — to flourish. She believes the best productions are built on trust, communication, and collaboration, bringing together talented teams and creating the environment where everyone can do their best work.

Her experience spans commercials, branded content, documentary, and large-scale events. Whether overseeing international campaigns or fast-moving productions on the ground, Lucy brings the same approach to every project: thoughtful planning, strong relationships, and a deep respect for the craft and the people behind it.

Based between Dubai and London, Lucy is known for the way she leads — with clarity, kindness, and the quiet confidence that makes ambitious productions feel not only possible, but seamless.

The Idea

The idea for LuckyLion begins in London. Two creatives exploring a simple belief: storytelling should lead with strategy, not just aesthetics. The early focus is on documentary storytelling and script development — shaping narratives long before production begins.

The First Projects

LuckyLion launches in London, working across documentary development and scripted storytelling for series and feature projects. From the beginning the philosophy is clear: story first, production second.

Reinvention

As the world shifts, so does the studio. LuckyLion expands into animation and remote production models, adapting to a rapidly changing industry. The experience reinforces an important belief — creativity isn't limited by format, only by ideas.

Expanding the Canvas

LuckyLion moves into corporate film, branded storytelling and commercial videography, partnering with businesses that want more than just production — they want communication that works.

Dubai Roots

During the pandemic, a new opportunity emerges. LuckyLion expands into Dubai, recognising the region's growing appetite for strategic, story-driven creative work. What begins as an experiment quickly becomes a second home.

Brand Authority
